Milk Bar Ted Lasso Biscuits:
Ted Lasso’s Biscuits may not be Swedish, but every traditional Swedish dessert table features seven “biscuits,” or cookies as we call them in the U.S. Apple TV+ recently released the recipe and the fury began. Milk Bar in NYC, offered them free for one day and then expanded availability in conjunction with Postmates through their New York and Los Angeles stores.
Securing a pink box of Ted’s biscuits from Milk Bar may be difficult, but you can impress your friends with the “official” recipe from Milk Bar for the easy-to-make, buttery shortbread cookies.
While the internet offers several variations for the “official” biscuits, the recipe below is from Milk Bar. Two major additions in this recipe are the inclusion of egg yolks and brown sugar. Other recipes include vanilla extract. Start here and then experiment for your personal best “official” recipe.
Now, turn on your oven and bake Ted Lasso Milk Bar Biscuits.
Ingredients: Makes 12 Lasso-size pieces
2 sticks unsalted butter (softened)
1-1/8 cup confectioner’s sugar
3 tablespoons light brown sugar
3 egg yolks
1-3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/8 (scant) teaspoon kosher salt
Directions: Preheat oven to 315F
Grease an 8”x8” baking pan with butter or pan spray.
Using a stand mixer, mix the butter and sugars together vigorously until smooth.
Stir in the egg yolks.
Slowly add in the flour and salt and mix until the dough comes together. The less you mix the dough, the more posh vibes your biscuits will have. (verbatim from Milk Bar)
Press dough into an even layer in the pan and bake for 45 minutes until a golden brown layer forms on top.
Cool completely before cutting into 2 even columns and 6 even rows.
TIP: I added a 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla for an enhanced flavor.
